Jr. Girl Scout Pet Care Badge Workshop
spcaLA is pleased to offer a Junior Girl Scout (8-11 years old) Pet Care Badge. Earning the Pet Care Badge will help Junior Girl Scouts understand more about animals, responsible ways to care for pets, and how to help others in the community.
This workshop will provide the Junior Girl Scouts with an opportunity to complete all but one requirement for the Pet Care Badge. Click here to see the complete list of requirements.
Activity #2 (Be Responsible) requires a two week commitment and is required to receive the badge. Therefore, it is requested that your group completes it prior to attending. If that is not possible, the badges will be sent to the troop leader upon completion of Activity #2.
Workshop activities include topics:
To Have or to Have Not, Add It Up
Staying Healthy OR Don't Pass It On
Animal Talk
Other Ways to Be Around Animals
The workshop will also include a tour of our animal adoption facilities, materials for crafts, worksheets, guest speakers, and a Pet Care Badge with spcaLA insignia, snacks and refreshments. There is a $10 donation per child to cover costs of materials and badge.
In order to reach as many Girl Scouts as possible, there is a minimum requirement of six girls attending each workshop.
