Agility
All regular Agility classes are held at the spcaLA PD Pitchford Companion Animal Village, 7700 E. Spring Street, Long Beach, 90815 @ El Dorado Regional Park across from the Community Garden.
Class & Fees
Classes consist of six one-hour sessions (not always consecutive weeks) per series.
Cost for all regular agility classes for ALL dogs is $75.00 per dog.
You may register through this site or return the completed registration form to : Jill-Marie O'Brien, spcaLA, 5026 W. Jefferson Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90016. Make checks payable to spcaLA. Your spot is only guarantee once the payment is received.
Payment must be made at time of registration. (Your spot in the class is not guaranteed until payment is received). Please confirm that the class you are interested in is still open prior to making payment.

| INTRODUCTORY AGILITY | |||
This class is for all dogs that have not had any previous agility training. If classes are full, you will be placed on a waiting list. You will be contacted when the next class is scheduled and given priority for admittance. |

| BEGINNING "A" AGILITY | |||
For dogs with 3-6 months or less of agility. Completion of at least one 6 week introductory class required. |

| BEGINNING "B" COMBINATION | |||
Beginning "B": Students at this level have been doing agility for 6 months or more. Dogs should have a solid "stay,""sit,""down" and basic "come when called". Dogs must know and be comfortable on all equipment, as well as have the capability to link 5 or more obstacles. |

| INTERMEDIATE AGILITY | |||
Students at this level have been doing agility for nine (9) months or more. Dogs should have a solid "stay," "sit," "Down" and MUST come when called. Dogs must know and be comfortable on all equipment as well as have the capability to link 10 or more obstacles. Ability to do weaves from both sides is beneficial. Dogs at this level are ready to start competing, are competing or are at a comparable training level. |

| ADVANCED/COMPETITION AGILITY | |||
This class is for dogs and handlers that are competition-ready or at an advanced training level. For dogs not competing, instructor approval may be required. Dog or handler must have or be competing in the Open/Advanced level of competition. |

| FUNDAMENTALS OF AGILITY (formerly "Obedience For Agility) | |||
Recommended for students prior to taking introductory agility or at the same time. This class is for all dogs either currently participating in agility classes or will be starting classes in the near future. Fundamentals of agility will cover basic and fundamental handling skills necessary to successfully navigate any agility course. |

This class is designed to help handlers improve their dog's ability to properly negotiate all contact obstacles and to build a better performance. During this class teams will build speed and improve their overall precision in navigating the all important contact zones. PLEASE NOTE THIS CLASS WILL ACCOMMODATE THE TEAM WITH THE LEAST AMOUNT OF AGILITY EXPERIENCE. |

| SPECIALTY CLASS: HANDLING | ||
| This class is designed to help handlers improve their ability to properly navigate through agility courses. It is also designed to teach the dog how to interpret and respond to handler cues and direction. This class is for dogs and handlers that have been training for six months or more. Dog and handler must have an understanding of ALL equipment. |
