spcaLA’s Animal Protection Services (APS) offers a series of training courses for Humane Societies, Animal Control and Law Enforcement agencies. APS training courses are intended for professionals only, not the general public.
Approved by the California State Humane Association, spcaLA courses may be used toward Humane Officer credentials. While our courses are geared toward entry-level positions and field officers, veterans and supervisors are encouraged to attend to update their training and review new laws
Courses include realistic scenarios and role playing; animal handling with various types of animals that may be encountered in the field; and hands-on training. Highly qualified instructors include veteran field officers, peace officers, veterinarians and attorneys.
